The particularly good conductivity of ELITEX® opens up completely new fields of application, for example in following the industries:
- Automotive
e. g. as heating cables in vehicle seats
This removes the potential for any hot spots caused by line breakages. It also prevents the overheating of the seat and even fire. - Medicine
e. g. EEG and ECG electrodes in textiles
The sensors can be integrated into various carrier materials, signals can be picked up in high quality and without fixing the sensors onto the body using gel or glue. Other advantages: less skin irritation, flexibility, washable. - Microelectronics
ELITEX® is very contactable, solderable and flexible. This makes it very well-suited as a supply line for electronic components in textiles or for textile-based integrated circuit boards. For example, an interactive police vest with temperature and moisture measurement circuitry has been developed using ELITEX®.
